So you want to adopt?
We offer puppies and dogs 1 of 3 ways.
1. Companion Pet (no breeding)
The most common way, for those who simply want the loving companionship of an Alaskan Klee Kai as a pet or for those who have no desire to be involved in breeding or the cost outlay and risks involved.
2. Potential Breeding (established breeders)
Available only to selected breeders with the knowledge and experience required to breed properly, those being mentored and/or those who meet the minimum standard we expect for someone to be able to refer to themself as a breeder. We do not consider owners who decide to risk a litter as breeders and we are aware there are a number of these within the Alaskan Klee Kai circles in the United Kingdom. There are many breeders we would work with in a heartbeat due to their level of professionalism and dedication and the standard of one or more of their dogs. There are good breeders we may not work with simply because their dogs bloodlines are too close to ours, for example, so to avoid inbreeding lines where relevant. Unfortunately there are also breeders we would strongly avoid, even those who have been breeding for many years. Our focus is the health, temperament, structure and future of the breed.
3. Companion Pet with strict breeding agreement
We would love to keep every single one of our puppies that meets the minimum standard we expect and whose test results mean they are perfect for breeding in all aspects both medically and structurally but we only have limited space. Despite this, as breeders we would be doing the breed a diservice if we did not recognise and utilise these dogs and have them in our extended breed program to help improve the breed so we decided to create a way of making this happen. Too many dogs that show potential for great health, temperament, structure, etc are neutered as a result of breeders letting them go to pet homes therefore potentially wasting good traits that could improve the breed.
This means the adopter has the dog as a companion as normal like anyone has a dog but when the dog is ready to breed and fully tested and assessed by us, we welcome them to us and care for them during the full stages of heat, pregnancy and whelping for around 20 weeks until all pups are adopted or assessed for potential breed programme. During this time we encourage the puppy's human parent to visit as many times as they wish to keep the bond, daily if needed. After this, they would return to their home with their human parent until the next time we would potentially breed them again (around 1-2 years later) or not if it is decided only one litter is suitable. This is because we recognise that not many people have the knowledge or experience needed to breed or the heart to deal with some of the potential consequences such as still births or complications.
Peace of Mind
Our Contracts are much better and far more secure than any normal dog/puppy contract, we have written them from from scratch and had them verified legally so you can rest assured that everything is clear, precise and both you and us are covered. We are completely open and happy to discuss these in detail with you before and during the process.
Adoption Application / Questionnaire
Please fill in your details to request an adoption application form. We will send a hard copy in the post to you.
We deliberately do not provide it for download or by email for specific reasons.
Since adopting a dog is a very important and meaningful commitment, we require applications to be filled in by hand and sent to us. We also expect anyone adopting to meet the breed a number of times and research to ensure you are choosing the right breed. We recognise there is not much information about Alaskan Klee Kai out there or it is difficult for newcomers to find so we are happy to provide as much information and answer as many questions as honestly and openly as possible.
Alaskan Klee Kai are not for everyone and may or may not be suitable for your lifestyle due to their nature, temperament and activity level but for those who know what to fully expect from having one in their family they will bring many years of constant joy, happiness, comedy, confusion, energy, exercise and love... oh and lots of mischief and stubborness.

With each of our puppies comes an awesome puppy pack with all sorts of goodies, vital information and invaluable knowledge and info that we have spent a great deal of time designing, writing, customising, having made, etc. You will not find anything like it from any other UK breeders, we like to go that extra mile.
